Dual boot laptops - Windows 7/8 with ubuntu

People generally use a windows or linux based operating system. How would it be, if you could dual boot you pc?Sounds fun? No problem see the guide below –

Well, so here is a way for you, to have Ubuntu, a Linux based operating system on your Windows 7/8. To proceed, follow these basic steps provide as follows :

  1.  To start up with, visit the Ubuntu website for downloading Wubi. (http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/windows-installer)
  2. Proceed with a click on the Get the installer option.
  3. It now asked you to pay $2 for each column.
  4. You can change it to $0 by just shifting the bar to the left.
  5. Now start with its download. It would be speedy, as its not very huge in size.
  6. Once downloaded, click on the Wubi.exe and a pop up asking for permission appears.
  7. Proceed by clicking on the yes.
  8. Now that the Ubuntu installer appears, chose the drive you wish to install it in, and select the size, environment as Ubuntu, and set up your password and username to log in from.
  9. Once you start with the installation, it will be done is 15-20 minutes.
  10. When successfully installed, select the reboot now and click one the finish option. Its going to get restarted, dont worry, its fine.
  11. Once it restarts, select Ubuntu with the arrows on your keyboard and click enter.
  12. Select Ubuntu, Linux -generic 1st option from the 3 options provided, with thr help of your keyboard.
  13. It again starts with installation of stuff required and packages. This might take time.
  14. A log in screen appears, proceed with the information you entered earlier.
  15. And with a click, you will have a good interfaced Ubuntu desktop.
And this was it!  You now can enjoy your dual booted windows Pc!  An amazing experience its going to be. Something that’s new, not the same old boring stuff. Hope its fun for you too!
