The Best quality image format - JPEG v PNG v GIF

We would have often noticed different types of image files saved by the name of JPEG, PNG or GIF in our system’s memory but were never bothered to know what these are. But let us tell you the most important thing about them which is they consume lot of space in our system.
Gif-Png-Jpeg
Even when we are downloading some image files, we hardly find its file type or film format. We just simply save these images in any of the formats. We were never bothered to know what is the difference between various files like JPEG, PNG and GIF image types. Even if we wanted to know, there was hardly any source to answer our queries..right? So here we are to tell you all you need to know about them.  Here the main difference lies while using them while designing for the web-
KNOW YOUR IMAGE TYPES AND THEIR FUNCTIONAL AREAS
If we talk in terms of sizes, we woould find that JPEG is much larger than the other two and it is widely used for the distribution via web or email because it gives you ample detail while being very efficient.
While on the other hand the other two files called GIF and PNG are both less heavier files but still can be used efficiently for images with large areas. As far as support is concerned, GIF is supported by all web browsers while PNG is not supported by all the browsers as it was developed as a free alternative to GIF.
If we look at the usage, we will find tat JPEG image format is  used for the representation of still images, photographs and different types of shadings of dark and light.  On the other side, PNG image file format is often used for the creation of logos that involves transparency and fading. GIF format is used in animations. There are many more differences which can only be identified by image experts.
For instance, GIF is not lossy like JPEG that can radically alter an image for the worse but in some cases can give an interesting effect to the image.Because of this non lossy format, GIF can be used to keep tight lines on typography and also on geometric shapes.
GIF is not ideal for modern photography because of very limited color tables and small sizes but these small sizes are sometimes of great use especially where JPEG can not fit in because of its massive size.PNG is excellent for transparency and ideal for screen shot software.
So this was all which was necessary for you to know as a user or as some on who has interest in photography. Knowing this is enough for you to use these image format at their proper places.
